Please welcome Ms. Sandra Munford, who has been called to serve as the new Director of the Good Shepherd Day School.
Ms. Sandra comes to us with nearly forty years of experience in early childhood education. After thirty years as owner and operator of Williams Daycare, Ms. Sandra decided to return to school, and she earned a bachelor’s degree in child/family services and computer science then a master’s degree in Education and Cultural Diversity. While completing her degrees, she also worked as a teacher at Chosen Generation Daycare, and most recently she taught in the Head Start program at A. J. Richardson (NEED) Inc.
While Ms. Sandra settles in, Katharina Johnson, who has been serving as the Day School’s interim director since January, will remain on the school’s staff to oversee the transition. Over the next several weeks Katharina will also begin resuming her duties as the church’s Director of Christian Education.
Of all Good Shepherd’s ministries, the Day School has the greatest impact on Rocky Mount, and the wardens and rector are excited to welcome Ms. Sandra for this new chapter on our journey.
